For the Month of January 2005:
Region Economy Main Index Comments
Arizona Expanding 64.0 21st month of continuous growth.
Boston Expanding 54.6 Employment, Business Confidence expanding.
Buffalo Expanding 61.9 New Orders and Production increase.
Chicago Expanding 62.4 Prices expands to 76.5, while Employment rose to 52.8.
Cleveland Positive +25.25 New Orders, Production and Employment higher.
Denver Expanding 54 MFG and Production expanding.
Denver Contracting 49.9 Lowest since October 2004.
Houston Expanding 61.7 Sales index soaring; employment continues growing.
New York Expanding 62.8** Service sector rising; manufacturing slowing.
Northwest Ohio Expanding 57.2 Activity increasing for 16th consecutive month.
W. Washington Expanding 62.9 90-day forecast increased, however from 66.4 to 68.8.

* These regional business survey reports use 0 (zero) as their breakeven point when referring to their main business conditions index. The national report and the other regional reports listed use 50 percent as their breakeven point.

** This index is a weighted average of the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors.

*** This index is a weighted average of the non-manufacturing sector.
